This project celebrates the unique Porsche design DNA of the Taycan in the year of the 70th birthday of Porsche in Australia and embarks on a digital journey that also represents the beginning of a new era.
Discover how artist Nigel Sense, photographer Derek Swalwell and music composer Gene Shill have transformed an all-electric Taycan Turbo into a multimedia artwork experience.
The Taycan as the canvas featuring a fantastical transition space filled with traveller's tales, a vastness punctuated by movement that accesses the masks of common humanity. All captured in three distinct photographs that highlight the contrast while finding commonality with the Taycan in the environmentally conscious architecture. Immerse yourself into the sounds that connect to the colours and vibrancy of the Taycan through harmony and rhythmic textures.

Peter Varga is the Director Exterior Design at Porsche. Varga, who studied Transportation Design in Pforzheim, Germany, and started working at Porsche as an intern 17 years ago, is nothing short of a perfectionist. “A car should not be too big – even by a millimetre,” Varga states. “We try to leave out as much as possible”.
After 70 Years of Porsche in Australia, the Taycan marks the beginning of a new era. While the Porsche DNA remains inherent, the Taycan combines an array of new technologies for the digital age and new customer frontiers. The project celebrates this new chapter for Porsche, embracing a collaborative approach in exploring immersive art experiences.
Nigel Sense draws inspiration from the American abstract expressionists and pop artists of the 1960s. His works capture the emotional feeling of movement from one place to another, that excitement to see what’s over the horizon. The design he created for Porsche is imbued with a sophisticated sense of play and irreverence, featuring the highlights of a vibrant and picturesque Australian road trip. Sense transfigures and transcends personal holiday mementos into shared experiences of anticipation and adventure.
Derek Swalwell’s name is synonymous with the photographic representation of the architectural landscape in Australia and beyond. Having crossed the globe numerous times since starting out on his photographic journey over twenty years ago, Swalwell’s work documents some of the world’s most iconic built environments and visually articulates them in an entirely new light. A Porsche owner himself, Derek searched carefully for the perfect location that would make the idea really sing.
A renowned Australian record producer and musician, Gene Shill is a pioneer in lounge and deep house music creation and collaboration. He designs bespoke soundtracks for luxury brand profiles to create unique consumer experiences and as a Porsche enthusiast, Gene is inspired by the sounds of Porsche cars. He takes raw sounds and translates them into musical harmony and rhythm. The end result is dancefloor tunes inspired by, and made from, the sound of a Porsche.
The campaign is supported by a strong partner in the field of NFT’s. FANZONE is a startup from the Porsche Digital portfolio that specialises in owning and trading digital collectibles.
Porsche has chosen the US platform SuperRare to auction the artwork. SuperRare is known for the worldwide sale of exclusive, unique digital artwork.
The winning bidder of each of the multimedia photographs receives the digital artwork as an NFT and thus the proof of authenticity.
The proceeds from this auction will be donated to the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art. The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) plays an inspirational and critical role investing in our artistic and wider communities, leading the cultural conversation and setting the agenda for contemporary art. ACCA strives to be the go-to place to engage with contemporary art: a platform for artists, and a centre for the exchange of ideas, to reflect and inspire positive change in people and communities.
